Now and again I have received requests to put this web site onto a CD or to otherwise make it available offline.
The people who asked wanted to use it with Catholic schools, home school kids, Confirmation classes or other situations where internet connections are slow or non-existent, or who did not want the kids roaming in the 'net unsupervised.
It a good idea, but I can't just shovel the site onto a CD. It has thousands of links to other sites, the whole raft of commercial pages, and there have been times when I had a web counter. These would have caused problems if the idea was to really have it available whole and complete offline. Besides, there were always more pages to write, more names to research, more topics to catalog.
Well, there is still much more to research, catalog and write, but I have hammered out an offline edition. My conversion software strips out the online stuff, and the final product is self-contained. I want feedback. Let me know about errors, unreadable pages, or other problems.
The file is available for download here by clicking the appropriate link or CD image below. Please note the size of this thing. If you're on a dial-up connection, it could take a while. The alternative is to order the site on CD. It's $5 for a CD, but on the plus side I'll send you a copy of version 1.1 when it's ready in October, and I'll throw in some other eBooks.
