Monastic Residence Program
Purpose of the Monastic Residence Program
The Monastic Residence Program offers an opportunity for Catholic women to experience the prayer, work and leisure of a monastic community. The experience also gives the monastic community an opportunity to be enriched by the presence, gifts, and talents which participants bring to our common search for God.
Eligibility
The Monastic Residence Program is for Catholic women 18+ years of age who wish to serve for one month to a year, with the possibility of renewal for up to one year. Criteria for acceptance include:
- desire to participate in the prayer and work of the monastic community
- good physical and emotional health
- maturity and spirituality consistent with our community values
- ability to adapt to different works
- willingness and ability to follow community policies and norms
- health insurance and financial resources to care for personal expenses (e.g., telephone calls, private vehicles, postage and supplies, medical and dental care, toiletries, transportation, etc.)
- willingness to come without dependents or pets.
Benefits
In return for their services, participants receive the following benefits:

- experience of monastic life, including daily Eucharist and Liturgy of the Hours
- room and board
- orientation
- ongoing mentoring
- participation in programs of the Spirituality Center; spiritual direction, if desired
- a small stipend is available
